Welcome to Thistle 'N' Rye!

Welcome to our site!  "Thistle'N'Rye" is the herd name for our Nigerian Dwarf goats which we've been raising and breeding here on our little bit of property in Atascadero which is located in the Central Coast region of California, on the inland side of the Santa Lucia mountain range.

We got started in the goat world several years ago with a Toggenburg doeling and wether (thanks to Jan Edwards, Riverwind Toggenburgs, in California Valley) for our oldest daughter's 4H project.  In spring, 2007, we looked into Nigerian Dwarf goats and found ourselves fascinated by these colorful, friendly and productive little dairy goats. This spring will be our 6th kidding season...where did the time go?!
